Short answer: most students find HUBS192 easier than HUBS191, and it is not because the content is lighter. It is because HUBS192 teaches whole body systems, so everything finally links together instead of feeling like a pile of separate foundations.
Why it clicks more than HUBS191 did
HUBS191 covers groundwork: musculoskeletal, nervous, endocrine and immune systems, plus biostatistics. All useful, but it can feel like several unrelated mini-courses stapled together, which makes it hard to build a mental structure.
HUBS192 goes system by system: cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, renal and urinary, reproductive. Each one is a coherent story with a job to do, structures that do the job, and consequences when it fails. Once you are thinking in systems, new facts have somewhere obvious to attach, and learning gets noticeably faster.
You also arrive with HUBS191 behind you. Homeostasis, feedback loops and the basic vocabulary are already in place, so you are building rather than starting.
The trap: it is still a knowledge-gap paper
Easier does not mean easy. HUBS192 is examined the same way HUBS191 is, with fine-grained multi-choice questions written to make you second-guess yourself. The failure mode is identical: small gaps you did not know you had, and talking yourself out of correct answers.
So the exam-room habit is the same. Trust the answer you know is right, do not sit there arguing yourself into a worse one, flag it and move on if you must.
Study it as systems, not as facts
- Learn each system as a story. What it is for, what structures do it, what happens at each step, what fails and what follows.
- Do the what-if version. Change one variable and reason out the downstream consequences. If a pressure changes, what happens to filtration? That applied reasoning is where the harder marks live.
- Work the diagrams properly. HUBS192 is diagram-heavy. Label structures cold from unlabelled figures, then say what each one does. Naming plus function together is how the questions ask it.
- Reconstruct, do not reread. Cover a system summary and rebuild it from blank. The blanks are your study plan.
Do not drop the free marks
Same as every other HSFY paper: go to your labs, and do the online lab assessment tests when they open. They are worth a couple of percent each and they are the cheapest marks available. Losing them to forgetfulness is a bad trade.
