UCAT ANZ 2027 dates are the deadlines for the test you sit in July 2027 for 2028 university entry. None of them has been published yet. If you're planning around school or HSFY right now, use the 2026 cycle as your guide, then check the official cycle page before you book.
What are the UCAT 2027 dates?
This table puts each published 2026 milestone beside its 2027 status. In 2026 the deadlines fell at 11:59pm AEST. Once the 2027 dates are out, convert them to New Zealand time properly before you put them in your calendar.

The 2026 standard booking deadline fell 47 days before the first test. That's about seven weeks, and it's the reason waiting until semester exams finish is a risky plan. The late booking periods cost more, and you only get a spot if appointments are still available. UCAT ANZ says it makes no exceptions to its deadlines, so don't count on talking your way into one.
When will UCAT ANZ publish the 2027 dates?
UCAT ANZ published its 2026 dates in early November 2025. Going on that, we expect the 2027 dates around November 2026. The exact release day isn't known, and one earlier cycle doesn't make a dependable annual pattern. Bookmark the official cycle page and check it yourself, because a screenshot passed around a group chat can easily be out of date.
We expect access arrangements to open in February, booking to open around the first week of March, and the usual booking deadline to land around mid May. Those are our planning expectations from the last two cycles, and UCAT ANZ hasn't announced any of them for 2027. Set yourself a reminder to check the official page when it updates, then swap each estimate for the published date.
When should I book a UCAT 2027 test?
In 2026 the Consortium recommended a July date. Booking early gave students more choice of location and time. Regional New Zealand centres sometimes had limited days, and by the final weeks there weren't many appointments left. If you'll be in Dunedin for HSFY, check your semester dates before you commit. If you'll be travelling to a centre, leave some slack for transport going wrong.
If you're applying for access arrangements, you need approval before you book. You can't take an ordinary booking and extend it later. How do the UCAT dates fit university applications?
A 2027 UCAT sitting counts for 2028 entry only. For 2027 entry, Otago Medicine required a result from the application year, and its 2028 thresholds haven't been published. Auckland has already said it will use Casper and an MMI for 2028 Medicine entry, with no UCAT. Otago Dentistry doesn't require UCAT. Otago says its professional programme applications open on 1 July each year, and the closing Thursday changes from year to year. The 2027 closing date is still unpublished. Treat your test booking and your university application as two separate jobs. Booking UCAT doesn't submit an Otago application, and UCAT ANZ sends results to universities after testing.
What should I do before dates are confirmed?
- Put a reminder in November to read the official cycle page and update your calendar.
- Check the name on your photo ID against your Pearson account before booking. An ID mismatch can stop you at check-in.
- If you need access arrangements, collect current evidence and read the official process now.

Once the dates are out, copy down the exact times as well as the days. In 2026 the deadline clock ran on Australian Eastern Standard Time, even for candidates in New Zealand. In 2026, 11:59pm AEST on Friday 15 May was 1:59am Saturday in New Zealand, so a reminder set for Friday evening NZ time keeps you safe. Pearson also needs a completed payment. A half-finished booking form doesn't count. In the 2026 process, a valid appointment showed up in your account and you got a booking confirmation and a receipt by email. If neither turned up, the booking hadn't gone through. Check for both before you tick it off.
It's also worth keeping test dates and score dates apart in your head. In 2026 Pearson sent you a personal score report within 24 hours, and UCAT ANZ delivered results to universities in early September. Your own report is for your records, and the Consortium sends the official result. The timing of 2027 delivery to universities is still pending.
