The day before your UCAT, check your booking, your photo ID and your route to the test centre, then stop studying at a sensible hour. A full mock won't fix much overnight, so spend the day making tomorrow easy.
What should I do the day before UCAT?
Open your Pearson confirmation email and check the appointment time and the exact address, especially if you have rescheduled. The 2026 UCAT ANZ test day page asked candidates to arrive 30 minutes before the appointment, and anyone more than 15 minutes late lost their test fee. Work backwards from that arrival time using your real route. If you are driving to another town or relying on public transport, leave room for a delay. Keep the confirmation email where you can find it at check-in.
Set out your ID now. The 2026 ID policy required one original, current, official photo ID, with a first and last name matching your Pearson account. At an NZ centre that meant a passport, a physical NZ driver licence or a Kiwi Access Card. Student ID, a photocopy, a digital licence and expired ID were refused. Name changes had to reach Pearson at least 5 working days before the test, and centre staff had no discretion to bend the rules. If your ID won't work, read the reschedule rules below tonight.
Should I do a full UCAT mock the day before?
I would skip it. A full mock takes about two hours and leaves you with a fresh score to worry about and no time to work through what went wrong. If a short warm-up settles you, do a few familiar questions or run the official Tour Tutorial to rehearse the navigator and calculator. Stop once you feel settled.
Look over one or two notes that have helped you in timed sets: when you move on, how you guess, and how you get back to a flagged question. Leave new methods alone tonight. The official practice guide links the tools if you want a quick interface check.
What should I pack and leave at home?
Take your ID and the appointment confirmation. Under the 2026 rules, the centre gave you a laminated notebook and marker pen, and everything else went into a locker: bags, coats and jackets, watches, phones, calculators, food and drink. Wear warm indoor layers, since your jacket stays outside. NZ centres provided disposable earplugs on request, or you could bring your own in unopened packaging. If you have approved access arrangements, follow the instructions in your approval for any permitted items.
Aim for a normal evening and a bedtime that leaves time to get up, travel and check in without rushing. If illness means you may not be fit to sit, look at your options before the appointment. In 2026 you could reschedule up to 24 hours before your appointment (after 29 June it cost A$25), and turning up counted as declaring yourself fit to sit. Our guide to missing or moving your UCAT has the details.
The NZ test day guide covers check-in and the locker rules in full. UCAT ANZ 2027 is sat in July 2027 for 2028 entry, and the 2027 NZ guide separates confirmed rules from details still waiting on publication.
FAQ
Can I bring my student ID?
No. The 2026 UCAT ANZ ID policy did not accept student ID cards. Check the current policy for your sitting.
Do I need to print my confirmation email?
No. The 2026 test day page accepted it printed or on screen. Your phone goes into the locker after check-in.
Should I learn new methods tonight?
I would leave them alone. Use methods you have already tested under time, and give yourself a calm morning.
