| How UCAT is used | First-stage shortlisting gives equal weight to UCAT and contextualised GCSEs, with no actual cut-off. UCAT receives double weight when usable GCSE evidence is limited. [3] |

| UCAS code | A101 [2][7] |
|---|---|
| How UCAT is used | UCAT is required in the application year. Oxford normally expects not to interview applicants below the top 40% of its own candidate score range. [8][9] |
| Interview | Interviews on 17 and 18 December 2026. [8] |
| Other selection requirements | A degree in applied or experimental science at 2:1 or above, plus at least AAB at A level with A or A* in Chemistry. [7] |
What this means for your UCAT prep
A100 combines UCAT and GCSE evidence, while A101 has its own applicant-score benchmark. [3][9] For A100, SJT is not part of shortlisting, so the cognitive score is the UCAT component to focus on. [4]
