quick heads up before anything: we make Cutline, which is a third UCAT prep option, so we're not neutral here π what we've done is keep every fact about Medify and MedEntry to what each company says on its own website, checked on 2 November 2026, with links at the bottom so you can check them yourself. prices and plans change, so look again before you pay.
medify vs medentry: the short answer
the two big names work in pretty different ways. Medify is a rolling online subscription you can cancel, and MedEntry is a one-off package for the year that can come with live classes and tutoring. both say they have more than 20,000 questions and 25 or more full mocks, so the real choice is how you want to pay and whether you want a person teaching you.
- pick Medify if you want a big online bank month by month and you're happy with no live teaching.
- pick MedEntry if you want a workshop, classes or one-on-one tutoring and you're ok paying for the year up front.
- neither? if you mostly want to practise on a screen like the real test and get better at the exact things you keep getting wrong, for less, there's a section on Cutline further down (yes that's us, sorry).

is medify worth it?
Medify's thing is size and flexibility. the bank and the mock list are big, the mocks are whole papers, and you can stop paying when you're done, which matters if you only start a couple of months out. one plan also includes their GAMSAT and interview courses at no extra cost (their interview content is written mainly for UK applications, so check it fits NZ or Australian interviews).
the catches are small but worth knowing. the pricing page shows AUD, the help centre quotes a different yearly price ($450, where the pricing page says AU$415), and the refund terms are strict. their help centre also says the ANZ and UK courses are identical. the official UK UCAT site says the two tests have the same content, so the questions themselves transfer fine, but ANZ scores your Situational Judgement out of 900 instead of in bands, and the advice you want is about Otago and Australian schools, not UK ones. there's no live teaching, so if you get stuck you're on your own with the explanations.
is medentry worth it?
MedEntry is the one to look at if you want teaching from actual people. Premium adds a two day workshop and an AI tutor, and the Comprehensive packages add one-on-one tutoring (in person is possible in NZ), plus classes you can buy on their own. it has an NZ site with NZD prices, which come out lower than the Australian ones.
the trade off is cost and commitment. Essential (the platform without teaching) is NZ$295, the tutoring packages run into the thousands, you pay it all at once, access ends in August 2027, and refunds are limited. MedEntry also advertises a "92% Success Rate", but the footnote says that's for students "undergoing our full training program", and the page doesn't say what success means, so read it as their claim rather than a number you can compare.
the bit that matters more than either
a bank with 20,000 questions doesn't help much if you keep falling for the same three traps π UCAT ANZ marks get stuck when you make the same kind of mistake over and over: reading "some" as "all" in Verbal Reasoning, picking Can't Tell when the passage actually says it, or doing the long working in Quantitative Reasoning when there was a shortcut. so whichever you pick, the questions to ask are:
- does the screen look and time like the real test, so test day feels normal?
- does it show you why you got one wrong, and then make you practise that exact thing again?
- is it priced for where you live, and can you start free before you pay?
- is it actually built for UCAT ANZ, with advice for NZ and Australian unis?
a third option: Cutline
ok here's us π€ Cutline UCAT is built only for UCAT ANZ, and it's built around those four questions. the practice screen copies the real one (same layout, timer, flag and navigator), so your timed sets feel like test day:

the main difference is what happens after you get one wrong. we call it the Cutline Method: you miss it, the review names it (one of 37 named traps, like "wrong base" in Quantitative Reasoning), the trap goes onto your Train board and you fix it on new questions, and after three clean, in-time dodges it retires. so you spend your time on what you actually get wrong instead of grinding another 500 questions. it also flags when you got one right but too slowly, which in UCAT is basically a wrong answer waiting to happen:

and the price is the part people usually ask about first:
- β free plan, no card: 30 new questions a day, Full mock 1 and three trainer rounds a day
- β Monthly: NZ$29 or A$29 a month after 7 days free, cancel anytime
- β Season Pass: NZ$149 or A$149 once, lasts until 31 August 2027, never renews, 14 day full refund
- β free extras: the UCAT Playbook, a score calculator with the 2026 deciles, and a guide to each university that uses UCAT ANZ
to be fair about it: Cutline is newer (it opened in 2026), the bank is nearly 1,000 questions rather than 20,000, there are 5 full mocks rather than 25, and there's no tutoring or live classes. we went with fewer questions, all written by us and checked by hand, and more work on why you miss them (we'd rather you get really good at 1,000 than meh at 20,000 tbh).
so who should pick what?
- you want a tutor or classes: MedEntry, and budget for it.
- you want the biggest bank month to month and you're fine without teaching: Medify.
- you're in NZ or Australia, you want to practise on a screen like the real thing, fix your actual weak spots and pay NZ$149 once (or start free): Cutline. you can try it before you decide anything.
no prep company's mock score is an official UCAT score, ours included, so don't read too much into anyone's mock number. our mock scores vs real score post explains why, and do you need paid UCAT prep is worth a read before you spend anything. the free official practice is the place to start either way.
if you want the direct comparisons, we wrote Medify vs Cutline and MedEntry vs Cutline too. or just start a free Cutline UCAT set and see how the method feels β¨
